Fiverr.com – A money hungry review!

Posted by EliteTek on Jun 9, 2010 in General / Personal |

I was busy reading my subscriptions when I  chanced upon an article about job sites. I am familiar with all the job sites listed there except for one — Fiverr. I immediately checked out the site and see what the author is raving about.

At first look, Fiverr reminded me of Twitter.  The only difference is, instead of nonsensical tweets that are usually advertisements, you get a list of jobs that people are willing to do for $5. Believe me, some of those jobs will make you laugh out loud. They range from silly like singing happy birthday to technical like building web sites. If youare any good at writing you can also sell your skills there.

Anyway, creating an account in Fiverr is EASY. All you need is a valid email address or a Facebook account. Once you have registered, you can start creating your gigs and hope that some prospective employer notice them. Here’s a list of Fiverr gigs that I have created so far.

What I like about Fiverr is the fact that you don’t have to log in to your account daily just to check if any potential customers ordered a gig or contacted you.  Any messages will be delivered to your inbox so you will see them when you check your email.  That’s really convenient for me since I forget to check  my different accounts daily.

So for all of you WAHMs and freelancers out there, check out Fiverr.  It’s a good place as any to sell your skills and put some extra money in your pocket. Check it out!

I use Fiverr all the time. I think it’s one of the best website ideas over the last couple of years

Fiverr is getting more popular all the time. Not only can you get some great deals–it’s fun to search the proposals. I am joining today! I might take you up on your offers for posting and writing—thanks!

I like it as well except for a few problems. You have to FINISH 8 jobs before you get paid anything. Actually you get paid in increments of 8 jobs. Try http://www.fiveones.com they pay for everyone and have three prices instead on one.

Bad Customer Experience
my review about fiverr is not positive at all i am a 100% feedback score seller there with over 25 gigs sold and i ordered a gig from a member there and fiverr send me a email warning me about this person so they were right he didn do the gig i paid for i complainet to fiverr.com about this and they blocked my account so i couldn complain anymore about it and they get to keep they commision of 20% thats unacectable also they stohle my money of 13us i highly suggest stay away form this site ,customer service is the terrible they need 3 days to answer a email i will file complaints against this website to all authorities who are in charge of internet fraud
stay away from fiverr its run by a bunch of kids who steal your money in the long run also the site is not very user friendly

I tried Fiverr got a few respoonses so I searched the web for other sites and they all seem to be stuck at one price point but then I found a new site http://i-will-do.com
their gigs or micro tasks aren’t just limited to $5 they range from $2 to $256

Hm. Bought a couple gigs off Fiverr, less than half delivered what they promised … If they claim they can get you 1000 followers on Twitter…DON’T believe it!!! Sure they may post a little tweet, but it’s not affective… None are! Plus, as a seller – WATCH OUT cause Fiverr is quick on the trigger amd close accounts without a warning … Even if you have funds waiting to be cleared …. Great for them, bad for you!!! I now sell my gigs on my website because there’s no way I’m going to complete a ton of gigs, have to wait two weeks to get paid only to have Fiverr suddenly close my account! Gotta admit, they’re slick!!!

Well i was going great in fiverr until tonight. Went to log in and found my account blocked. I have been buying quite a few gigs and generally have had a good experience. Then whilst in conversation with the seller by mistake i mentioned a competitors website name and bam i’m blocked. Still waiting for a reply from their support but i have 3 gigs paid for that won’t be delivered. Any credible site would give you a warning and if you continue to do the wrong thing then fair enough to get blocked but to cut you off because you mention a competitor is just childish. In fact they are shooting themselves in the foot because there is no doubt it is a great concept that i believe is here to stay and all it takes is a competitor to tweak with the security for buyers and sellers and not take as much of the pie as fiverr and maybe make some other tweaks and fiverr will be forgotten while someone else prospers.

We all found ourselves in situations where we needed a job done, but couldn’t find the right person or the right price for us. Some interesting websites provides a direct line for customers and suppliers to interact with one another and reaching mutual satisfaction. The set price and the wide range of suppliers offering their immediate services is a new market place concept like no other. On these marketplaces you’ll find online services such as advertising services, people who will write articles for you and even services you never though existed such as personal assistance with marketing activities, video, social activities services, or anything that comes to mind. You need something any job done this is the place to find someone who will do the job for you.
The unique nature of some website enables us to perform as a small trust fund. Meaning, that the $10 the customer transfers the money, but the service supplier will receive it only after the customer has confirmed his total satisfaction from the service provided. We cannot confirm nor have a background check on each service provider, but the way the platforms works assures that service providers who do not perform to the customers total satisfaction will eventually be removed from the site due to low evaluations the receive from you, the customer.
This is a self supported system. As such a system we depend on our followers to promote us. They are actually our best public relations people. Those who experienced the website and had a good interaction there will recommend us to people close to them. Through them we can reach out to a larger audience and provide you a greater deal of options. But it’s not all about us. Your personal interest is also at our heart, by using this platform you can expose yourself to a larger audience and increase your personal followers on the different web applications.
We truly believe that for some things in life there is no need to pay a lot in order to receive a top quality service. So why pay more when what you need to be done can be done for just $10.

Fiverr does a fine job. Could some things be improved? Sure. And my understanding is that if they close your account abruptly (for “mentioning” a Fiverr clone site) you do get your money eventually.
