I Love You Phillip Morris

Well it’s time for another movie review, and it’s been a long time since i did my last one so please put up with my grammatical errors and over-all bastardization of the English language.

Looking through my movie collection and finding this movie was a complete surprise, i looked at the title and bought up the IMDB. After some reading, and coming to the realization that two of these actors are pure freaking perfectionists, i stopped my reading and went straight into the movie.

It was 3:30AM and i was just about falling asleep, within five minutes of watching the movie i was awake and waiting in anticipation on what would happen next. Each scene is an art in it’s own the level of detail put into the surroundings and the overall domination Ewan and Jim had over their characters was riveting!

I’m going to include a review by another person on IMDB, they’ll pretty much sum it up for me!

This is definitely a detour for Carrey whom is mostly known for doing commercial fare. It is refreshing to see big stars indulge in what would usually be performed by actors without the A grade stature. What really impressed me were the very explicit and heavy sex scenes and romantic moments between Mac Gregor and Carrey. They felt real and tender. I know this film was going to cause waves because even though I watch independents all the time I as surprise to see two A list actors go at it sexually the way both these actors do in “Phillip Morris”. I hope this film is taken as an example for other A listers to follow in creating other really original and daring works. Specially applaud Europa, Luc Besson’s film company for putting together such and abrasive and risky subject matter.

Towards the end of this movie, a savage turn took place and it left me in absolute tears, the emotions spewing from the characters was pouring right into my soft spots and pretty much took me down for a fair while. My advice to anyone seeking a good movie to watch is pretty obvious.
Go see this movie, it’s freaking fantastic!
